Are those thumb releavers worth it?

My dads got one on his 450es. It works great on long flat rides, you can use your palm instead of your thumb. I don't like it on slow, bumpy trails though. You have to actually reach farther back with your thumb and can't get as good of a grip on the handlebar, so I usually take it off in those situations. I don't know what kind it is or where he got it though.

Be careful with them. If you are leaning forward (especilly while backing up) the are easy to get caught on clothing. A close friend of mine did this and wound up in the hospital (his big 'ol Artic Cat turned over on him while backin from under his shed and the brake lever stabbed him in the chest).
