450r shocks fit 250R?

Thanks. You look like you have some nice toys yourself! Sadly i run the stock carb becasue a new one is so damn expensive. i like the ESR products and I too was looking at one of their carbs when I upgrade. I have had some trouble with my choke sticking lately so I might have to look into one sooner than I thought. BTW, ive never ridden a 450R but they seem slightly narrower and taller than the 250R to me. Which bike do you have more confidence on when riding hard?

thanks...honestly the 250R. its lower to the ground and lighter. and dont feel like ur gonna tip over when u make turns. and i believe the 250 handles better also. 450 feels like ur on top of a horse when compared to the 250.

frogdaddy....did you ever get those shocks? Hubby is finally getting to his 250r and he's looking at shocks. He thought that the new 450's would work but asked me to do some research. He still has some serious frame work to do before he gets to the shocks...but you can never research too much.
Thanks everyone for your responses....

yes the fronts do .....they are on my machine! they will raise the front end up an inch or so.rather firm feel to them(spring). im 225 so they are pretty good for me with the preload all the way out. definately an improvement over stockers ....... now to send the back to elka to get resprung and revalved. I tried putting a 400EX Rear shock on my 250R and it would not fit. The shock was to wide to fit on the frame bracket. The fronts did fit, and raised the front. I now have a 450R Rear on my 400EX and it fit.. So I am thinking the 450 rear will not fit the 250R. But if it does let me know.

hey, yeah i finally got them in. the rear didnt fit, but the fronts do fit and like everyone said it does raise the front up and it made the top of my tires tip inward. messes with my handling a little but i hadnt had time to see if i can make the tires straightin out.

from the front ,it makes a hardly noticeable v with the tires. but thats with no load...when i get on it straightens it out. im only a trail rider so they suit me fine. no preload.....wound out with my weight.for a lighter rider they may be a bit harsh.the guy i got them from was 155 lbs and they were too stiff for him.i could be 15 ft. high with no bottoming out. firm and smooth.. i like em for the money. totaly adjustable too,and rebuildable. now to get the backs set up accordingly and i will have a good trail setup for a 230 lb. middle age rider LOL

i see you have an 86 and i have an 88. didnt the 86's have an inch longer a-arms? or so i thought. cause on mine it is big time noticable from the front. even when i sit on it it doesnt straightin out. i only weigh 175lbs maybe not heavy enough. get this, the left wheel is not as bad as the right. i have adjusted but i dunno what else to do. i mean ur right, the price i couldnt beat 165 bucks.

thats funny you said that...cause mine appears like that too. i thought is was my imagination! i have the rezzies facing outwards on mine.easier to adjust and no cutting.plus i dont want to cut my shiny chrome shrouds up.....you know!!
