Default Cr 250 headgaskets on trx 250r

I have heard of people putting Cr250 headgaskets on the TRX250Rs, and was wondering if all Cr 250 headgakets will work on the TRXs. I have a 86 250R and was wondering whether or not this would help the power or not. If so what year Cr gasket would i order for my TRX? Thanks

the only reason you would see a power gain is if the gasket is thiner making more compression. it would have the same effect as milling the head. check the honda websites and compare product #'s if they are the same the gaskets are the same and i dont see why they would be different.

The CR gasket is thinner than the TRX, get one for an 89 CR....

You could get a cr head gasket, or you can take your stock one and peal it apart into three sections. Take one of the THIN ones, spray some copper gasket on it and you will have about 190 pounds on the guage.

Thanks for the responses. I had heard of people doing this to bump up compression but didn't know wether or not it really worked. Thanks again for the help...
