I loaned my 00 Xplorer to my bro Joe so he could trailor up some cut down lumber to the top of his property, with the trailor attached to the quads hitch. It handled it flawlessly in some very harsh wet/muddy/hilly conditions.

He asked to use it to move a chipper/shredder around?I said ok.

The next day I go to his house to see whats happining and I see this HUGH RENTAL shredder on the rear of my quads hitch.I about pooped my pants. This damn thing had to weigh about 2500lbs,and most of it was on my quads trailor tongue. He had been told to use LOW range with any towing/pulling.I guess he did, everything appears to function properly.I learned one lesson though,I wont loan my quad again,to scarry.

JRM,
Yah,but your buddie probably moves the boat around on a flat/hard surface with the quad.

My bro moved the shredder around on wet/muddy/hilly/rocky terrain. There's a bit of differance there I think,

TPnTX,

I am not one to start trouble; however, if I were you I would go kick him in the a$$. (LOL)

If that Honda breaks down, I will be happy to help you fix it. Can't do anything about the wear on the tires though.

Man, you're lucky he didn't bend the axle housing!! That's my main fear whenever pulling a trailer with a quad, not the trailer weight, but the tongue weight.

Probably did not do any damage but it was lame for him to do that with your atv. Cannot trust anyone to take care of stuff.
