honda 400ex VS. suzuki z400

honda 400ex VS. suzuki z400
After my last post asking about the 400ex, everyone's bitching got me wondering if I should consider buying a z400 instead of the 400ex. I can find both of them for about the same price, but is the Suzuki really THAT much better than the Honda? More bitching would be appreciated.

I own both and it depends on what exactly do you want. If you want something you can gas up and go, and doesn't require a lot maintnance, they are both very good, but I'd say the EX is a tad more maintnance free and reliable.
The EX is better on tighter trails and can be lugged a little more, while the Z has a little more performance over the Honda. Tell us what exactly you are looking for, and how experienced you are and we'll go from there.

Well there pretty much evenly matched quads,but the z does have a bit more power and a few other things better.However its not all that much and isn't that spectacular.You won't really notice alot of difference between them and it sounds like your already leaning towards the ex,so get it,you will not be dissapointed.And you won't be dissapointed with the z either.

they are both very reliable machines I own both and trail ride with them mostly. The honda has more low end troque imo and the suzuki is a mid to top end powered quad. The ex will do wheelies for mile where the suzuki it takes some skill cause it has a wierd balancing point. They both ride exactly the same, the only thing i like better about the honda is that it feels like it sits lower and handles better on tigher trails. On the sand the suzuki does feel like it floats a little better but it isnt too much different from the honda. Overall the suzuki isnt that much better than the honda your just getting more features on the suzuki like liquid cooling and DOHC. If I were you i'd drive them both and find out what you like they are both awsome machines and will not be dissapointed if you get one.

Get the Z. they have better power better shocks better handling and an over all better quad. They also respond to mods much better. the only thing the honda has over the suzy is reliability and you dont hear many horror stories about the Z except a weak first year frame.

the new z400's may have better suspesnion than the 400ex but the older z's are pretty much the same as the 400ex. I dont think my 03 suzuki is better than my 400ex, and handling is alot better on the 400ex. I dont get how you can say that the z400 is better overall cause the z is an exact copy of the ex. I will admit the z does have better power but not better handling or suspension.
