400ex help fast

My problem is which way does the oil filter go in the filter i bought doesnt say outside on it. is it the hole on the outside or the spring side?

spring goes on the inside.

duh..... i want to know which way the filter goes in it doesnt say "OUTSIDE" on it. does the hole in it go toward the spring or the cap?

On my oil filter the spring goes inside the filter and then you put the spring and filter in and theres only one opening for the filter...
