i have no idea how to hook this thing up and i need help can somebody please help me ....its a emgo tether kill switch wit the red cap that pops on and off........................

 

What kinda fourwheeler??? you should take you the lines thats running to your ignition switch and take them out and just twist them and tape them to the ends of your new kill switch then put them somewhere on your frame where its not going to get hit! also DO NOT put the teather switch on top of your handle bars!! your first wreck it will break off and you will be buying a new one put it close to your handle bar mounts that should work just face it to you!! that shoud get your started

 

its a 400ex and i wanna try and keep the key in use for other sateftyreasons like theft but i know ..if u want something that bad nothins gonna stop u...but still just want the key to stay in use...its a 04 400ex and the the switrch has 2 wires that split off to four

 

ok i understand i just dropped the key all together but you can try this!!! i think it will work try cutting the covering around the wire(that hooks to the key switch) cut the covering about 2 inches down from the key switch and put your new wires around the wires that you tore the cover off of but be sure not to cut the wire!! and put some electrical tape around it and try that i am pretty sure that will work!! if u understood what i said

if you splice into both wires on the key it wont work. all the tether switch does is work like a fuse. take one wire off the key and run that to a wire on the tether switch then run the other wire coming out of the tether switch to where you disconnected the wire from the key. that will work.....didnt it come with instructions???[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]

and wouldnt taking the tether part that attaches to you off the quad essentially do the same thing as taking the key out for theft reasons???

 

no those thing dont come with instuctions at all!!! but i didnt know how to do the switch set up so i just gave him an idea! hoping it would work!

i dumped the hole key switch and everything when i bought mine

 

thats crappy they dont have instructions!!! i did not mean to make you look or feel like an idiot when i said you way doesnt work i just wanted to save him the time.

 

The easy way to do it....

unplug your wires that go to your key. Connect your tether switch wires onto the metal part that plugs in. Plug it back in, and your done.

or....

Connect the two tether wires onto the coil its self and eletrical tape around it.

HEY THANKS GUYS ITS ALL HOOKED UP JUST DID IT LAST NIGHT ...TOOK ME A FEW DIFERENT TIMES IN DIF WAYS BUT GOT IT TO WORK OFF MY KEY SWITCH..BUT ALSO HOOKED UP ANOTHER SWITCH TO BYPASS THAT SO IF I LOSE OR FORGET MY CORD I CAN JUST FLIP THE SWITCH...U GUYS GOTTA COME DOWN HERE IN JERSEY TO MANCHESTER OR GLIDENS AND WIT US...SICK SHI* GOIN ON OUT THERE ....FOR NOW ,LATER GUYS..SAFE RIDIN...AH SCREW IT TEAR IT UP...LATER
