not sure about the plates...maybe they are a custom thing. and as far as the temp light you dont really need to worry about that. i have seen a 250ex ran to hell and back in 95+ deg heat day in and day out with no problems. just keep good oil in it and keep it moving. how often to you hear about one overheating??? and even then it wasy probably due to lack of regular oil changes and such.

thanks for replying but why i asked why isnt there a temp light is becasue i was riding it today and its 95 deg here and when i took a break when i came back and started it up, (started right up no prob) i let me idel for about 5 sec befor about to go in to 1st and it just died and i was like ??? lol but i have done by reshearch and found an old post about someone havin the same prob and comes to find out someone posted this
''Two things here...and both apply to the Recon and the 250EX.
They take longer to warm up than almost any other model out there made by anyone....and the idle speed on both quads are set a wee low out of the box. (This is actually a fix that your dealer SHOULD have made before the keys were handed to you.)''
i did notice it idled a lil low when it was sittin in neutral...but i dont kno how to make it idle a lil higher becasue i do not see the idle rejuster anywere period..lol
other than it idle's just a wee bit low i love it, does very good, as soon i got it home i got it outa the truck and went around the house and then i was thinkin if it would wheelie ok, well i got it in first and just layed on the gas..Big mistake lmao nothing happened just shocked me that it would rise right up like that then i started thinking well no **** theres no wait in the front...but its a good lil quad for trails and fun. just got it to play around on and go on some rides with my friends. but if i dont need a temp light to make sure it dont over heat then i guess i wont get one... now i just need to figer out how im gonna get it to idle a lil higher then it does..it fines once i get goin but if it stays idle for very long it will just die..if u could help me out with the idle prob would much apprecite it...thanks

As for the labels, put a picture of Brittney Spears in there, cover it with a piece of plastic, and rivet it down.
As for the over temp light, most air cooled engines don't have them. Hope you had sense enough to run 20W50 oil!

My friends 250ex died all the time. especially goin from reverse to 1st gear. turning the idle up would help but all you gotta do is hit a button and it fires right back up. and like i said dont worry about it overheating. if my friends didnt then i dont think its possible....i mean come on....its a freakin honda!!!

We had to tow a broken down Blaster out of the Glamis dunes once. The little Recon got so hot it started to belch blue smoke. We have probably put a couple of thousand miles on the machine since then. Didn't adversely effect it in any way.
