Default finally

hey guys im pretty new to the forum. i finally got my first sport quad. i was planning on getting something a little more powerful like a raptor or sumthin but found a mint 2000 400ex in my area for 2500 and had to buy it. like i said its in mint condition, barely ridden with a fmf powercore 4 exhaust, k&n filter, full skids, dg bumper and a few other little things. i am very happy with it. i also have a few questions. when doing wheelies i start in 2nd and shift thru the gears without using the clutch. i kno it cant be great for it but will i actually have any problems with doing this? also how deep of water can i ride in without harming the engine or getting water in the airbox? thanx for your time

use the clutch!!! its not only hard on the tranny but on the engine too. when you slam into another gear it does not give the motor time to slow down. as far as the water it depends on how fast you are going. ive putted through water up over the tires about 4 inches with out any problems. flying through 6 inch puddles i somehow get water in the airbox??? im guessing the water got thrown up and into the snorkle.
