Default 450r yoshimura full exaust?

a local shop recommended i go with the yoshi full exaust, the carb will be jettet and the stock airboxed removed and replaced by a K&N kit. Anyone have this set up, or running another full exaust that want to share their thoughts on? what type of gains am I looking at here. I ride some trails mostly dunes.

i rode a buudies 450 with the yosh and it actually lost some bottom end and that was with a 13 tooth sprocket. it did seem to have a decent top end .

how does it compare to your lrd system and how do you like the lrd? more bottom end? what about the noise on each of them, i know the yoshi puts out 96db

it would take a pipe that would have to be able to produce more hp and tq in the entire rpm range before id get rid of my lrd. either that or i went with a top end pipe after a bigger cylinder and piston.it is kinda loud, i have not had it tested yet but i have heard that its around 100db. i think the lrd produces the most usable hp and tq out there. i have heard that the vc pulse charger is supposed to be an excellent pipe aswell.

i honestly dont know what your buddy did but if he lost some bottom end those yoshi pipes are made for bottom/mid range... if you want a real pipe check out esr great performance gain, i had a yoshi on my yfz and nothing but probs jetting etc... put on this esr and man it flys... i bet with it on a 450r it would do pretty well...

it certainly did not have any bottom I would brag about.all the dynos iv seen on those yosh pipes hp fall below stock hp below around 4000rpm. besides arent those things usually around 600 bucks , on sale.

Keep your airbox just remove the top. I'm not a big fan of the yoshi...I'd go with a PC, Rossier or ESR for a pipe if noise is an issue the pc would be the choice. Gains will not be that impressive with just a pipe you're limited by the stock cam.

Why spend $450 on something that really doesn't perform better than the hrc end cap with spark arrester removal? If you want a pipe get one that works, Rossier, PC, ESR or HMF are all better than the yoshi. Again keep your airbox you will lose power with the airbox eliminator kit. Don't waste money on a rev box either. Their are only three ignitions that are worth any power gains (tokyomod, Dyna and the crf) and for your mods it would be insignificant. If I were you I would spend $ on a cam and good pipe. The biggest limiter on the trx motor is the cam.
