Actually, performance-wise the Vinson is way ahead of the regular Rubicon, I don't care what year. That's why I hope Honda makes this CTE Rubicon the mainstream model to compete with Suzuki.

VJ,

Just take your pictures and reduce them to 150 mb or less. Then go to the "MY Page" tab at the top of the page and add the pictures in the boxes. It will walk you thrugh it once you get there. If you have any trouble, let me know and I will try to help you. If you can't reduce the size, pm me and I will give you my email address and you can send them to me and I will resize them and send them back.

I guarantee the regular one does not. I thought this was the one you were referring to.

gee redgoblin, why don't you get off of beating up the Rubicon, it gets old? I know you once had a Rubicon, sorry it wasn't everything in the world for you. Did you ever roll it over or on its side? when did you drag race an 05 Rubicon against a Vinson? Was it a Vinson 5 speed or belt? Or are you speculating based on seat-of-the-pants feeling or Forum feedback? Are you having second thoughts about the 700?

the "regular" or US 05 rubicon has the 36mm carb too, and probably the mapping - so it should have the same performance as the CTE, but who cares if the Vinson is 3 MPH faster. I sure don't. I want to go fast, I'm not going to ride a clunky utility quad........the are all slow comparitively speeking. Try a KTM500.

Pete, I doubt these changes resulted in a "substantial" improvement, unless my definition of substantial is different than yours. Substantial to me would be 10MPH faster or 10 quad lengths quicker up to 50mph. Stop cutting into my resale value (if I ever sell it)!!!! Even so, I think these Rubicons are best at 1MPH, so it still wouldn't bother me.

According to the Spec sheet the 2005 Rub still has the 33mm carb. The 2006 shows a change to the 36mm.
