Funny how someone usually manages to twist what you mean to say into something totally different and derogatory. Yeah you're right some bikes do respong to intake or exhaust better than others and some pipes are better than others. I sure wish I had thought that out before getting my fmf system. Its better than stock but not by any means the best out there. Off the subject, anyone out there know how much extra HP the 06 yfz450 puts out than the 05's? I don't expect it to be much but with 10 extra cc's maybe 2 or 3?

 

my friend has a 400z and he put a complete yoshi system on it, it woke it up alot, but he would have to drop big dollars in it to hang with a 450r, my brother in law has one, its just unreal, to me, its like a big bore 2 stroke, kaw will have to come out with something big to keep up, of course i know they will, then honda will come out with something better, soreforth and so on.

 

i saw a stock 450r vs. z400 with a hmf pipe on it and the 450r blew it away!!!!!! Sparky I apologize if I came off alittle rash and attempted to somehow distort what was trying to be said. FYI the numbers for Suzukis hp are given at the rear wheel so the 03's had ~31hp and the 06's have 36.6 as you claimed. If hmf is listing numbers like 13hp then that must be at the crank and not the rearwheels. From a pipe, airbox and jet kit you wont get more than a 15-20% increase in rear wheel hp. I interpreted your hp settings as compared to a 450r, ma bad. I know a piped z wont compare to a 450r. Its apples and oranges.

i have seen a vid of race between the too, yfz and 450r and the honda won.

 

i think they were both stock

 

FYI the stock yfz will win a race vs a 450r 10/10 times assuming conditions are ideal and riders are of equal calibur. The only way the honda would win was if it was piped or had a better rider or raced against a newb rider or a combination.

 

FYI-An 05 YFZ will beat an 04 YFZ........An 06 YFZ will beat an 05 YFZ....Get my point!
Maybe by 09 the YFZ will beat a 450R.

 

Machine vs machine, the 450r is faster. but that means very little if your racing against one. a few days ago i was at El mirage, california (dry lake bed). drag racing, i beat half of the piped 450rs there and smoked all the other ltz400's. kept up with some of the yfz's, and beat a quadzilla. what im saying is that rider makes a huge difference in racing, a better rider on a slower bike and still beat another rider on a faster bike. i beat all sorts of crap out there all i had was a pipe, k&N, and jetted.
