I have to recommend that everyone take a look at the HJC AC-X1. It's the next step up from the CL-X3. At around $200 for a plain black helmet (my color of choice), it easily compares to other name brand helmets at well over $300. It is quite a bit lighter (less than 3 pounds) than the CL-X3 and has nicer pads that wick away moisture better. I know it's a bit more expensive than the CL-X3 but for someone who may be considering a Shoei or other high-end helmet, you may want to check this one out first.

Answer M7. It's a '99 model I think and I picked it up for $119.00. Usually goes for 200-250.

I wear an O'Neal WF-540 helmet. I got it for around $70 because my dad works at a dealership, but retail is usually around $100. Very comfortable and looks great!

Rule of thumb, buy whatever helmet you feel your head is worth.

For some a $29.95 will suffice, for most though I'd say the HJC selection is sufficient.

Looks like I'll be checking out another HJC. I've had good service life out of the one i have now. Only getting new one out of fear of weakend shell or insides from previous mishaps. Going to look into the CL-X3 or the AC-X1.

Answer M-7 full face fiberglass--about $160. Looks cool and the extra protection of fiber is worth it--don't go with a plastic bucket.

Hey, I've got a green shoei wire fx-4 that I got last x-mas. It has been an awesome helmet! You can't beat the grafix. I wore it because I had a '99 Kawasaki kx 100, but I'm getting my Raptor in a week or two and am going to get a shoei razor vfx-r w/ the black grafix to match the b+w Raptor!! How sweet!!!
