Default 05 250 RECON

Articbrat, I have just purchased a 2005 recon about a month ago and I am pretty pleased about my decision. The recon is extremely agile(had 2003 trx 250 sportrax)and handling is almost as good.I am 5'10" and weigh 180,the recon has enough low end torque to get up the steep hills around my house but you got to lean forward to keep the front end down.top speed is about 35 mph or so which is fast enough for me due to very uneven terrain which I ride but if your going to ride alot of flat ground ,your going to top out the quad and wish you had just one more gear.As for dependability, its a honda..enough said.great on gas,can ride all day without refilling, although i had to use reserve once.hope this helps...

Its possible but I would bring a pillow for the back rack and be careful doing it because the front end will be very light.

xtc,

I am quite sure the top speed on my recon is much faster than 35 mph.

Mine has been ultra dependable with zero problems except one that was caused by me breaking the diff drain bolt, sips gas and will go all day without a fill up.

The size issue, I would for sure go and sit on one and size it out.

Too small, move up to its bigger brother, the rancher 2 wheel drive.

a friend of mine just got his 04 recon...i took it for a short ride, it seems like a nice ride. the fuel mileage will be great as long as you dont go around with it pinned all the time, i remmeber my bayou barely burned a 1/2 gallon on a ride out to stephentown where now the bigbear burns a little over a gallon..the top speed should be around 40-45
