05 250 RECON
i am 6'4" 265lb big guy but i love my recon
i personally was looking for something i can cut new trails in a very wooded area
the recon is great and i would diffenatally give a 200lb guy a thumbs up
as for riding double my freind was with me the other day and his polaris gave out on him and i gave him a ride back to the house he weighs 205 + about 10 pounds of mud on him the front end is very light but it did very well

05 250 RECON
I don't own one but I know the 250's are tough. My neighbors go out every weekend and take their atv's over to Enid lake and ride the lake bottom and when they come back....both atv's are brown. One is a 250 and the kid that owns it is tough on atv's. Sure he get's it stuck in the mud but that doesn't stop him from following his brother(Honda Foreman) and his dad(Yamaha Grizzly) through mud that almost "swallows" the Recon.

05 250 RECON
I clocked my 2003 Recon with a GPS on smooth grass and I was able to get 44 mph (I weigh 165 lbs)on a slight downhill, uphill was a couple of mph less as I recall. My nephew probably weighs 130 lbs and he said he said 48mph on a slight downhill, a little less on the uphill. Had an earlier Recon that would not go that fast but somewhere along the line Honda engineered some more performance into the thing. The Honda Recon is a great little quad and is a torquey little motor. It uses very little gas. My only complaint is that you get a little too much vibration through the handle bars.

05 250 RECON
Forgot to add that the 05 & 06 Recons had different shocks (frt & rear) than earlier Recons. They seem to be slightly softer. I put 05 shocks on my older Recon and the difference was noticeable for the better. It rides much better. Someone on this forum suggested that the 250EX shocks also are a direct bolt on to the Recon but I can only attest to the 05 shocks being a direct bolt-on as that is what I did.
