No 650R this year!!!!!!!!!!!

Well maybe not this year but i bet they will pop out with a trx700r next year using the same engine they got on the new Rincon. I guess you Honda guys will have to wait around a little bit longer for that. The 06 450r should be alright, though the new front head-lights look weird.

The time was now, but for some reason honda did not step up to the open class sport atv maket. Right now would have been perfect timing for it to compete with the new Raptor700r and the rest of big sport quads.

This may just not be the direction Honda is headed??? Why have a heavier 650, when you can do the job better with a 350 pound 450R???
If you look at the dirt bikes, the XR's are out (except the 650) and the whole line is now CRF's, with nothing bigger than a 450.

RECONRANGER.Thats a valid point, but most all the other brand name manufactures have a big bore sport ATV except Honda..
There's a TON of past Honda riders that wont be going Honda, especailly AFTER they've had the chance to ride the competetions ATVs.

Well I told myself I wouldn't be bummed out but I have to admit I am though it will be interesting to see how much different the new 450r is. It looks like they did some nice things to it. I think there is a huge need for a big bore sport quad. There's people like me who don't want a race inspired machine that will require more maintenence. I ride almost exclusively in the Glamis dunes and am over 6 ft and weigh over 200 lbs. I was hoping Honda would build something that I would be comfortable on while still having plenty of power to make it up the steepest hills. I still love Honda and always will but hey...... there's always next year right?

If you look at desert racing (where the XR650 dirt bike is king), the 450R quad is king. The little R is out there beating the big bores, so why have a big bore when it just isn't necessary??? With the new updates, the new R should be even better!

Well this is year 5 with no 650 engine. Someday they will show us the bike they never built [650ex] like the 1987 ATC250R's.
I really don't understand why they don't put the big XR engine in a quad frame???
I had a 450R last winter and sold it only because I knew they'd add electric start once the CRF450X came out.
I'll buy one this week and never sell it.
I'm 6-5, 260 and the new 450's have enough juice once you massage them just a little.
I hope the new Suzuki sucks and has plenty of teething problems, I hate buyers remorse.
I buy Honda off road products because they last, even if I am last up the hill.
Too busy to wrench and can't afford to drive 3 hours to the dunes and DNF; Add gas and go duning 5 weekends a year - only a Honda can be trusted to do that year after year.
Kaiser, good to see you still haunt the boards looking for what will probably never come.
