No changes to the quad. I road with a guy who has a 450r with long travel elka's up front and he gave his shocks and put them on his wifes 400ex and he said it road way too stiff...so he kept the stockers on and ordered her longtravel elka's and a-arms too lol.

my friend was planning on getting wider a-arms.. would it be a good idea to get R fronts and leave the stock rear on because hes probly not going to be getting an extended swingarm?

Well with the wider arms up front the 450r shocks wouldn't be to stiff...for the rear if you get extended swingarm it should be alright just set up the back shock to compensate for the more leverage the longer swingarm is going to make.

The 450R shocks are about 1/2" longer than the 400EX shocks, but they will work.
