Default Changing the gear Oil

I am changing the gear oil on Honda 300. I was just wondering, I don't think it will, but it won't hurt if I push the bike like 300 feet or so will it? The reason I want to do this is to get it to the air compressor so I can blow some air in to make sure I get all the old oil out. So will it hurt it to push it like 300 feet.

You won't hurt it by pushing it, but I wouldn't blow too much air pressure in it for fear of damaging a seal.

I'd just drain it, and refill it with quality stuff...

Hey thanx for the info, I will push it over tomorrow and just slightly blow it out I guess. I won't put too much air pressure on it. And then I will refill it. Thanx again

meh, i really wouldnt worry about actually driving it. there is enough gear oil still stuck to the gears that 300 feet aint gonna matter at all even if you started it up and drove it.

to get all the oil oil out, go buy some cheap gear oil, then also buy the good stuff you wanna put in. drain your old stuff, fill it with the cheap new stuff, then go drive around the block with it, then drain that stuff and put in your good new stuff.

I dunno if it will hurt the seals but I always use a can of brake cleaner to get the rest of the oil out when i change gear oil. Spray it, let it drain and evap and cap it back up and refill.
