Hello, I have a question for any techs out there, I have on two occasions read on these forums about the New Honda Rubicon having the computer remapped for better performance? My question is can a computer swap (2005 to a 2002) do the trick or was there more involved internal in the engine? Because some day there will start to be used/ wrecked / parts showing up on the net.

I understand very well how remapping truck computers work, I have in fact seen first hand computer remapping for shift points, rev limit and spark advance etc.


Please just facts and thank you for your time.

 

I'm pretty sure you cant remap the stock cdi, and I dont know if there are any companies offering an aftermarket solution. Dyna doesnt have one and neither does vdi or vortex. So that leaves you with the ebay market which is hit and miss to say the least.
