Default Thinkin' about selling the 250R

Thinkin' about sellin' the R for a DS650. How much do you think I could get for the ol' girl. My bio w/ pics tells the story. The things that have changed since those pics were taken is that now I have the baja T-9 rims front and rear, a Terry cable billet thumb throttle anodized red, and a 36mm Keihin carb is on the way from ESR. Bike starts 1st kick every time and has no flaw what so ever. Down here in S. Florida an R like this usually starts at around $5,500 so thats what I'm thinkin. It has 4-7 hours since 100% complete rebuild in May of '05. I love the thing but I almost kill myself everytime I ride it.

My pops has a DS and I fell in love with it. The power is phenominal even in stock trim. But the main reason is the width. A YFZ or 450R is not an option because since my R has +1 a-arms, I have grown accustomed to a wide stable quad. The YFZ, 450R and Z400 all feel too tippy to me since my R is so low and wide. The DS is heavy but nice and stable. Not positive if Im gonna do this yet, but its an option. I just ride crazy on my R and it freaks my girlfriend and my mom out. I know a DS is fast, but its not quite as insane as my R.

I just rode a DS650 a couple of weeks ago, and I can assure you it is nowhere as stable cornering as a YFZ, but they are fun to lug around.

Sounds like you have already ridden one and appreciate it.
Good luck on whatever you decide to do.

Yea the yfz has a real low center of gravity, so even though it my not be as wide it's real stable. I've ridden these and they corner awesome at high speeds. If you want a wide stable quad, wait for the z450. The suspension is supposed to be so good that D.Gust and J. Jones are gonna run the stock suspension. Don't know if it's just hype but I've heard stock suspension on z450 is supposed to be better than any aftermarket currently available.

I think there was some big $$$ involved in having gust and jones talk about the ltr450. I cant see the suspension being better then anything aftermarket offers unless the factory put an aftermarket shock on it stock which is most likely what they done. My advice to you is keep the r. Its better to have the extra power and not need it then to not have it at all. Just take it alil easier if your scaring ppl lol
