will a stock 250r keep up to a stock 400ex in the dunes if not what would i have to do to the 250r or the 400ex

 

Stock R will be faster than the 400ex, but they are close enough that the ex wont be too far behind.

 

where do you find a stock 18-20 year old 250r?

Saw a guy showing off his bone stock 250R just recently removed from the crate just the other day. They are definately out there.

 

I saw a completely stock 86 250r on ebay, it went for $1500. I had it on my watch page but didn't bid soon enough. I ended up getting my 89 lt250r for $1800
I wish I'd gotten that 250r

 

They are out there. I just bought a mostly stock 86 for $1,800 on Ebay. It does have a graphics kit etc... but still has the stock gold wheels in good condition, stock pipe and silencer etc... The guy I bought it from had it since 2000 and he bought it from the original owner. As far as he knew the motor had never even been opened up. Don't know if that's true but I'm sure I'll find out eventually! I can post the eBay auction number if you'd like to check it out.... don't have it right in front of me this second.
