$8K OTD? I would've paid less than that if I paid their price plus all the taxes and crap. I have a friend who knew the manager. He actually did all the nogociating for me. I hate that stuff, not very good at it. Went down and paid for it the next day after he did all the work for me.

$6500.00 out the door is what they go for in our area.

HRC kits go for list, $350.00.

Install is $150.00

I am not sure what th HP is.

Hope to buy a dyno next year, if all goes well.

Then we can talk real numbers!

Okay guys, bought it already. Black E-Start; seem's like they didint carry any kick start versions so im gona start looking for a kickstart kit and change it myself, or take it to a shop to get swapped out.

Got a question for you guys. When I got the bike home, it started it up fine. I had the choke on for like 2 minutes and took it off. I rode it for about 20 feet, dropped it to neutral and came to a stop and then it stalled on me. After that it wouldnt turn back on. The oil temp light (Red light) turns on when I turn the ignition on, then after several seconds the green light comes on; but the thing still wont turn on. It just turns over but won't start.

One thing I realized is that the fuel was on reserve that whole time. I changed it back to the proper setting; however it still wont turn on.

You guys have any ideas what it might be? I have to go back to the dealer anyways since they didint give me an owners manual. I'll just ask them once im there I suppose.

Same thing kinda happened to me. Went to my buddy's house around the block on reserve. When I got there and turned it to "on" I couldn't get it started. I did't realize it was on "res" until I got there. With the 450R you don't need to give it gas when you start it. I've read a thread from some reviewers, who during testing said they didn't need to push the gas to start it back up. So I tried not giving it some gas and it started after two sessions of turning it over for 4-5 secconds a piece. I waited 10 seconds or so between trying to start it. I guess it can flood pretty easily and the owner's manual suggests turning it over with the power off, then waiting 10 seconds then trying to start it if it's flooded.

I actually took it back to the dealer on Monday and they checked it out. They said once it's broken in it will start better, but try not to give much or any gas when you start it. I drove a 400ex for 4 yrs and they start completely different. On the 400, I had to give it a small bit of gas for it to start every time and I never had a problem with starting it.

Went on an hour ride last night and it started fine every time. It runs really good. I'll try to add the link to the article I read. Tells you all the good stuff about the bike and how it starts.

Congradulations on the new 450R! Correct me if Im wrong but didn't Honda but the CRF FCR carb on the 450R for '06? If so I have heard that that alone makes the R a whole lot faster. Than on top of that they changed a lot of the internals too....this is the bike they should have made in '04. They also added an inch to the swingarm too which will help the "light frontend" i've heard they had. Now if only Honda would have added more travel to the shocks. Aren't the Rs shock close to 1/2 inch in travel less than the YFZ? Sounds like the ne R is the best all around bike now.

Alright, I did what you told me CraquE and it pretty much started up fine. I left the choke on and walked away. After acouple of minutes it stalled on its own. I got back on it, and it won't start up again. Ideas?

Thanks for helping me out

Sounds like you're leaving the choke on too long.

it's also a 12:1 compression motor, it's not meant to sit there and idle all day. It should idle but it is a race engine and usually race engines don't tend to like to idle. Just my .02
