Alright, I guess I figured it out kind of. I turned off the fuel when the bike is sitting off, when I try turning back on, I just swtich to on and it seems to work fine. The red light is the only thing keeping me from riding this weekend.

I've been riding Yamahas for 2 years now. I'm ready to come back to Honda. Nothing wrong with Yamaha, just prefer red again for awhile. (And the durability. LOL) I'm also getting the new 06' 450R. So rock out on the new 450. Its an awesome quad. Peace

Yeah, don't keep the choke on so much. I actually started mine last night before my ride and didn't even need the choke. Kept it revved slighty for 20-30 seconds and it idled fine for me for a few minutes while I unloaded my 400ex. It never missed a beat.

I got nervous about the red light coming on also. I'm a little OCD, need to make sure everything is okay. I read most of the owner's manual the night I brought it home. I read EVERYTHING that comes with my bikes. They're all a little different. In the manual it explains that the red light comes on for 3-4 seconds when you turn the R on. This is normal. Not sure why they have it do that, but it's normal. Also, the green light only comes on when it's in neutral. Most bikes are like that.

Your owner's manual is in a black rectangle plastic casing under your seat, right next to the tool kit (between air box and rear of bike) in the plastic round cylinder. There's a small rubber "tie down" that holds both in securely. Just pop your seat off and it should be under there. The tool kit has a screwdriver, sparkplug remover tool, and it should have a small tire pressure guage for the R also. Enjoy.

You probably figured it out by now, but the green light is your neutral light. It should come on when in neutral. Like the other guy said, the red light will come on initially when starting. The red light is a warning light. I'm not sure on the exact details, but the light is going on initially until the motor has a chance to pump oil through it and lubricate. Your quad sounds just fine, if you have any other question just ask.

I work in a dealers service department, new to this ATV stuff and the industry as a whole.

Rode several of the 05 TXR450R's, stock, modified, you name it.

They are quick and fun.

The 06 TRX450R is way quicker and faster than even the modified 05's I have ridden.

H9R's tips for the ohhhh six:

Run 50/50 regular gas and race gas.

You may need to have the mixture screw checked, we sold several and one was a little lean.

***If the head pipe glows red at idle, please, take it in for an adjustment.***

The HRC kits arrived at our shop last week.

I am bringing one home tomorrow, with the repair manual, to gear up as we have several commitments to it already.

If you want a blow by blow of the installation, we can do it for you.

The first kit gets installed Tuesday morning.

Exciting!
If you drag a stock 06 against just a hrc 05 the 05 will take it in the top end. Once the 06 has the hrc in. ??????

Okay guys, bought it already. Black E-Start; seem's like they didint carry any kick start versions so im gona start looking for a kickstart kit and change it myself, or take it to a shop to get swapped out.

Got a question for you guys. When I got the bike home, it started it up fine. I had the choke on for like 2 minutes and took it off. I rode it for about 20 feet, dropped it to neutral and came to a stop and then it stalled on me. After that it wouldnt turn back on. The oil temp light (Red light) turns on when I turn the ignition on, then after several seconds the green light comes on; but the thing still wont turn on. It just turns over but won't start.

One thing I realized is that the fuel was on reserve that whole time. I changed it back to the proper setting; however it still wont turn on.

You guys have any ideas what it might be? I have to go back to the dealer anyways since they didint give me an owners manual. I'll just ask them once im there I suppose.
Good luck on the kick kit Slick. I think you may have some challenges on your hands putting a kick on it. I hope the Honda dealer didn't tell you it was an option.
