Some of you obviously don't realize what I meant. I meant that just b/c a Raptor is faster,it doesnt mean people with 400Ex's should go out and sell theres. I think some of the people who are responding are too busy trying to correct someone rather than trying to understand what is being wrote!!!! I was just trying to say "every atv has a weakness and none is perfect." I didn't think some of you would freak out!!!! Oh well

I do understand your post, and I respect your opinion. This has been coming for a long time, your post was just the protagonist. Like I said before, I won't waste my time or yours by repeating myself over and over, so lets all work together and make these forums better for everyone. Peace all.

i dont need a raptor. i dont need to spend 2,000 extra to go ten mph faster. a 400ex has plenty of nuts to be a blast on the trail. i dont know about you people but i hate when people go flying around corners at 45 mph and almost dent my awsome polaris!

I wanna know the web page you guy's say the 650R report came from. It's not the honda page cause I checked it out and I couldnt find it. and isnt it ironic that they changed the name of everything to sporttrax instead of fourtrax? Maybe they will come out with a two stroke (wishfull thinking) again.

Who cares? I could care less if Raptors are faster. I would really hope they are, considering they are 260cc's bigger than my 400ex.
I completely understand your post Sporttraxguy. I would never sell my "little" 400ex for a Raptor. The Raptor is nice, but I don't need 660cc's. I like to keep the wheels on the ground, and that is hard enough to do on the 400.

while I was at East Coast Atv last week I saw something that disturbed me......a raptor with about 8 hours on it and a bent frame and upper a-arm. it apparently hit a tree at about 15mph and instead of breaking the wheel or even the spindle (like I did on a 12 year old 250R at 35mph), it bent the frame to the point where it was about 3 inches out of place, and whats with the cheesy aluminum a-arm? wasn't this tested by yamaha?

First off it doesnt take more than a 416 to beat a Raptor. I just got back from PISMO Beach and my buddies and I found a Raptor that wanted to see how much faster he was than our 400s. Two of my buddies have pretty much everything that you can do to these engines and still stay at stock bore and they had no problem staying right with the Raptor. It was neck and neck the whole drag. ANd that is at stock bore. We later ran into a guy on a new DS650 who told us that there was a Curtis Sparks 416 out there that could not be touched. No Banchies Raptors or DS650s could keep up with him. You all can say what you want about the Raptor being faster or the Banch being faster stock, but I have seen it with my own eyes these 400 can hold there own against Yamahas best.
