Does anyone know if I could put a set of 26" tires on my 350 4x4? I know it will drop the power a bit, but will they rub anywhere?

There is a guy that I talk to on another site that run 26" ITP Mudlites on his Rancher 350ES with no lift, and he said he gets no rubbing at all. They look really good too. He does say that he has trouble turning them in thick mud(I'm assuming deep) Highlifter does offer a clutch kit that allows the engine to rev a bit higher before engaging the clutches that is supposed to help that.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-cool.gif[/img]

 

26" mudlite xl's on an 01 Rancher es 4x4, itp c-series type 4 rims. The rims have an offset and I never had any rubbing issues. The bike handled better after the new tires, and offroad performance was infinately better. No doubt that I'd do it all over again given the chance.

 

Do you notice any significant drop in power with the 26" tires? I'm thinking of going to the ITP 589's.

 

There was a noticeable drop in power, but only at the very top of 3rd gear and up. First and second still had enough grunt to spin the meats through some very thick mud, and third was still very useable for trail riding. Fourth and fifth there was a noticeable drop in accelleration and reserve power but it didnt impact the ability of the machine or the ride.

 

You don't want 589's on the Rancher........They are much heavier than the Mudlites.......I considered those too until I emailed ITP for the tire weights in 25" tires between the two.
