Thats kinda sad. All of that makes perfect sense. Too bad I hafta wait like 50 years until I rebuild it to get my power back. Also, I may have discovered the cause of the smoke. I just need to know a fact. How much oil does it take to make smoke? I washed my baby today and during my routine checkup of the intake system, I discovered a thin coat of oil on the inside of the intake tube. This was probably from when I upended it on a wheelie. Is this enough to cause smoke? Just curious, because I drove it all around and let it warm up and it wouldn't smoke anymore after I cleaned the tube. (Plug still reads like a dream engine-I was under the impression that when you're burning oil there will be deposits on the porcelain)

There is a crankcase vent that brings blowby gasses to somewhere before the carb to prevent them from being blown out into the air.
If there's alot of blowby past the rings some oil will be brought with the blowby gasses. The oil will then be sucked back into the engine.
As a last resort I would warm the thing up then ride it like you stole it as long as you can hold out. Get the cyl pressures up and maybe the rings will seat.

Have or do a compression and leak down test.
These will identify if the problem is with the rings, valves or something else.
I agree with taking it to the dealer. Just be sure you have your maintenance documented well, as it makes it a lot easier to file a warranty claim.
Good luck!
