Vampire/Mudzillas/MUD LITE XL whats best for a 2005 Rubicon?
#1
I am going to pick up my new 2005 Olive Rubicon 500 around the 21st of november. I need to buy some mud tires at the same time, for Deer Season on the 28th.
My 1st needs from the tires is heaving pulling up hills. Then 2nd trail riding and 3rd for mud.
I do not do crazy muddin like some do. I will never go thru water/mud that is deeper than mabey 2 or 3 inches above my feet, so about 15" deep at the most, and thats mabey 1 time a year.
I have looked at some tires out there and I been looking at the following 3:
1st-SUPER SWAMPER VAMPIRE 25"or 26" (My uncle has these and I know what they can do for pulling)
2nd-Maxxis Mudzilla's 25"or 26"
3rd- MUD LITE XL 25" or 26" (I am thinking about these for light weight and cost)
I do not know what will fit my Future 2005 Honda Rubicon 500.
It comes with - Front Tires of 25 x 8-12 and Rear Tires 25 x 10-12
I noticed that 26" tires do not match the Front 8-12 and Rear 10-12....26" are like 10-12 and 12-12.
I do not care about price I just need some info if you can since you guys have mabey had some exsperience with all or most. Plus I dont really know if 26 10-12 front and 26 12-12 rear will fit a 2005 rubicon with out any problems.
Thanks so much.

I don't have any experience with any of the tires you mentioned but I've never had a problem with the stock dirt hooks on my '02 Rubicon either. I have been through mud deeper than the wheels and water nearly a foot over the floorboards and I've never been stuck. Spending money on tires might not be necessary for your needs. When I finally wear my stock tires out, I'll probably look at the mudlite xl's or swamplites.

I really like my Mudlites, they are a little rough riding at slow speeds 5-10 mph. But they do great at just about anything. I would stay with a lighter tire to reduce power loss. Although they are a heavy tire, the 589's just can't be beat. They wear like iron too.
