2006 HONDA TRX 450R-HRC KIT?
Hello, I just had the HRC kit put in and now im trying to decide should I do a slip on pipe, like HMF or just leave it? Also thinking of a K&N filter system? I ride in the sand dunes in so-cal. Any comments appreciated, I just want the quad dialed in and don`t feel like messing with the jets all the time. Do you think the slip on and knn would be a benefit or not? Thanks If the jets are in the hrc that will fit that would be cool.

Do nothing else, the HRC kit is balanced and designed to work with each component.
Spend money on gear and riding, leave the motor alone now!
Oh, the HRC kit is a race kit. Be prepared to change pistons and rings at 15 hour intervals. Wrist pins at every other.
The HRC kit comes with a yellow manual. If the dealer did not give it to you, ask for it.
Yes, the HRC kit comes with a jet for the pipe, normal jet changes apply, but I suggest not messing with it.
Also, the kit has two set ups for baffles. Check, and if there is a piece bolted into the end of your baffle, that is the AMA diffuser.
Take it out and give it a try.
First, get the yellow manual that comes with the HRC kit and read it all.
We just installed one and the cam was off a tooth, bent the exhaust valves.
Fun stuff.

Only remove the stock airbox lid and the other mods t he HRC kit comes with. The stock air filter will flow plenty of air IMO, plus it truly filters.
Save you money for race gas - run 110 50/50 with pump gas (premium ideally).

and they dont have a oil cooler
"The twin-sump lubrication system is unique in the fact that it helps ensure that the engine and transmission oil supplies do not contaminate one another. It also reduces the amount of circulating oil needed and the size of the oil pump. Ultimately, you end up with just an oil cooler - no external oil tank is needed."
im pretty sure mine's got one and the above text came from trx-450r.com. i'm pretty sure its on the honda site somewhere and has been metioned in all the reviews since its intro in 2004.
