03 400ex stock filter
#1
A couple of weeks ago I let a buddy of mine take my 400 to buttercup sand dunes. Well after he got back i was doing some regular maintnence like cleaning the air filter, checking the oil all the good stuff. Come to find out some fine sand passed through the stock filter. Now i checked the filter and there are no holes or tears in the filter. Is it just a bad filter from the factory? Is it a problem Honda would take care of? or am i S.O.L. and have to buy a new top end?

sand is a killer as far as i am concerned! i try and stay off it as much as poss! a new top end i dont think will be needed but then it deppens on how much sand got through it may be worth you having a look if you worried and you know what you are doing! May be a uni filter if you love the sand and but other wise out a K&n on it! and just take care of it and you will be fine and you should notice a power hype!

As of right now it starts and seems to run fine its just burns oil. I was running amsoil fully synthetic but thinking about swithcing to royal purple fully synthetic. The amsoil was 10w-40 but the royal purple is 10w-30. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
