there are a lot of typical track conditions depending on where you are from. i think razrs do better than holeshots on hard stuff because the lugs dont flex as much. its pretty much up to rider preference. they both have their own distinct feel. my best suggestion is find someone at your local track with holeshots and see if they will let u go around a lap and do the same with someone with razrs on the same machine and see for yourself. i know this isnt the easiest thing to do but it seems to be easier if you ride with them for an hour or two so they see you have enough skill to handle their machine.

From my experiance, I have gotten the best performance from Holeshots on hardpack as the split ***** act like fingers to grab everything they can...........Then I swapped to Razr 's and Wow! Holeshots would plug with mud, Razr's would not..........Best XC tires hands down!

Razr 2's are much more comparable to Holeshot HD's in design and price.........also, Why steel wheels? Go aluminum. Less weight for better acceleration, and suspension action.

Either tire in an MX version will do that, as they are soft sticky compounds. In an XC tire, I think the Holeshot is better on hardpack, and the Razr is best in muddy/ loamy conditions. Both are excellent, and neither will disappoint.
Beware the MX versions are 2 ply tires that don't resist punctures well, and are best kept for MX tracks only.......Except the Kenda Klaws like Kory Ellis runs.......They are 4 ply and would be better in that way.
