sounds like someone is filling you full of $hit, maybe they"re jealous cause you'd have a faster quad or something.

 

It's just simple Physics.......the 450 is a high revving engine, so it is going to be harder on its oil and need more frequent rebuilds than a more mellow machine. I change my oil about every 5 hrs (10 hours absolute maximum). I figure on a rebuild maybe at about 100 hrs.??? It is not unusually hard on spark plugs.

If you ride tight trails, get the 400EX.......it has an engine that will lug down and can be ridden slowly. If you ride faster trails or open country, get a Z400.....it is considerably faster than the EX, and is the best all-around machine out there. If you want to go really fast in more open country, get the R.

I bought my quad almost 2 years ago and it runs great, starts great, its just like new, and people think 2,500 is too much. What do you guys think

as for the price of your quad, I haven't looked around but if I was going to buy one of those for my wife or daughter I don't think I'd pay more than $2000. But the best thing to do is pick up a local classified and see what they're going for.

 

O0O i get what you mean. Well i put that price because someone down the street from me had a 1989 trx250 and his price was at $2000. I dont know how much he sold it for but last time i checked it was $2000.

 

If anyone lives near new york buy your quads at this place troycitygarage.com. a 2005 honda trx 450 is only 4,800 brand new. almost all there motorcycles are $1000 less.
