Which sparkplug for 06 450R ?
I have the 06 450R with the HRC Kit installed. Book says you can use a 7 or an 8. The stock plug is the 7, a hotter plug. The HRC Kit left the 7 in place.
Anyone have any experience yet with the "8" plug, It is listed in the book for high speed riding. How tough is it to change plugs in this thing?

Dunefool - Have you tried the "8" or do you know anyone who has?
Do you know what is involved to change the plug on this 450R....I guess I could look in the book ! :-)
ALSO, does anyone know how my original posting got linked to the "Polaris" website at the word " tough "....I am still trying to learn how this Forum works (after 140 postings!).

Which sparkplug for 06 450R ?
The Owners Manual for the 06 Honda 450R, on the very last page, lists two sparkplugs that can be used. They list NGK and Denso (I think) plug numbers. For the NGK the two heat ranges called out are the 7 and the 8....similar to the heat range choices we had with the 250Rs.
This Manual lists the 7 (NGK, hotter plug) for "normal" riding, and the 8 (NGK, cooler plug) for "high speed riding". This info is right out of the Manual.
I can see what you said about desert riding....that would be sustained high speed. It also seems like I do a lot of "high speed" riding in the dunes.... because the wheels are always spinning, and therefore the engine is racing a lot. As I said, Honda left the 7 installed when they added the HRC Kit, so I assume it is the best for that application.
Just looking for anyone with experience already with the 06 plugs.......
