Default Fuel Additives

Are there any additives that i can buy that are safe for quads and can increase octane and or break up carbon buildup?

I run Klotz Octane Booster, but more for other things than just the octane boost. First and most important, it has an ester synthetic lubricant for the top end. It also has a fuel stabilizer, in case your fuel sits for a while. And last, it has octane booser to insure against detonation. At the recomended concentration, it boosts pump gas octane by +2.5. Going any higher than that isn't necessary, unless you are at very high compression.

400EXGuy070 what are you trying to accomplish with additives?
Additives are used to cure problems. If you have a little carbon buildup just dribble a little water or ATF down the carb throat at high idle. Water will do the trick, ATF will make pretty white smoke and will also work.

anything you would run in your car/truck will be good enough for your quad (oil excluded)........the quad is WAY MORE forgiving than your car!

You can't beat SeaFoam. That stuff cleans out your carb, your engine, and can be used as a fuel stabalizer. Great stuff.

I wouldnt put anything other than a fuel stabilizer in there if it is going to sit for any length of time. Anything that has Methanol in it will destroy the aluminum in your carb. I just spent 4 days cleaning out the carb on my quad because the P.O. left Octane Booster in the carb and tank!

I use mobil 1 sythetic oil 1-2 ozs per gallon of gas. lubes the top end ,stabilizes the fuel, burns clean. I run 1-2 ozs per gallon of atf to clean out carbon.
