Best nerf bars?
#1
I'm thinking about adding a set of basic nerf bars to my 400ex. Who makes the best ones? Are there any I need to stay away from. I've looked at DG's, AC Racing, Tusk and a few others. What are you guys running?

Hi man
so you need some nerf heh? i bought the DG steel series for my 400ex. why steel ? well i had aluminum ones on my warrior but i discovered that hiting rocks while 'power sliding' did some prety big dents on my nerfs. People think that theres a huge difference in weight between steel and aluminum, whell i lifted both and didn't see any big differences. The steel series tubing is smaler in diameter then the alum so the weight isin't a big issue and also the steel is way stronger then the alum. Oh and yes i love em
good luck !

i think when i get a set, which will be soon hopefully, after a truck to haul my quad in....anyway, I think I'm gonna get the blackline nerfs from AC. I like the heel guards that are buiold in, and nice footpegs. If you don't like the black, or if they don't have it the race peg ones with heel guards are pretty much the same...and they're silver.

DG Race Pegs. They allow way more foot positions than anthing else I have ever used. They are however a little slick when your boots have mud on the bottom (a feature of aluminum).

I'm doing some research for nerfs also, and I'm leaning toward the AC Pro Peg with aluminum healguard. Everything built right in and a nice wide footpeg with the kickup. I'm also seeing them in some spots for about $210, which is not too bad.

Hi again
hey wandell, is price an issue for u? because price can vary alot depending on normal nerfs or propeg nerfs or propeg with healguards, etc
you stated that you wanted a basic set of nerf bars, right ? so then go with the one you think you like the most, AC or DG or whatever, at a reasonable price for u. Are u doing mx or hard riding ? because chrome nerf bars won't last long if you don't look after them.
hope this will help u.
cheers!

Personally, I don't like heel guards. They look funny, and I think they are unnecessary extra weight. If you are wearing boots, that's enough protection against getting your heel sucked into the tire.
