Default Boring out engine to 416

I have a 2001 400ex and im about to bore it out to a 416. Im going with a Wiseco 87MM 11:1 compression piston. It comes with the rings and everything. Few questions though. Im looking to get a white brothers gaskit kit since i heard there really good. Anyone know where i can find them? Also, right now my quad is burning oil. Am i gonna need anything else? I wanna leave the stock pipe on becuase where i ride, it cant be loud. I know its not gonna give it a much boost in performance, but it needs a rebuild anyway so why bother keeping it stock? Let me know becuase im gonna be ordering the piston and everything tomorrow. Thanks

New piston and rings and a new bore should get rid of the smoking problem unless it's the valve guide seals that are leaking. It's an EASY fix to do while you have the head off. As far as the gasket set, I don't know have you looked at their website?

Well what im going to do is, have it bored out to a 416, have them install the piston, crankshaft, rings, bearings, and rings and i will do the valves myself. So bacisally a short block. I will look at there website and see if they have anything. Will i need new jets? Im keeping the stock exhaust on it.

I recommend replacing the timing chain while you have it all a part. You shouldn't have any head gasket issues with a 416. A blown head gasket is pretty much an issue with the 440 kits.

I would definitely have the head checked over if you are burning oil.

By the way, how much are you paying? Can you break it down between parts and labor?

Thanks,

Jon
