Default help with decision....rincon...kq..grizzly

I rode an 06 Rincon a few weeks ago. Very nice machine and it will be my next Quad. Not everyone likes the Rincon because they believe it has to have a low gear and a locker to be considered. I dont know how much weight you will be pulling but it will tow and plow. I just read on the Rinconatv owners site about some of them plowing snow in Canada with 60" plows. I dont pull anything. I am looking for a quad that I can ride all day and not feel like I have be beat up. The Rincon has an unbeatable ride and nothing can beat it on a trail. Yes it can be beat in a straight line, but how many trails have you been on that are nothing but a straight line? I have seen a Rincon hold a wheelie for 50 yards.
I have also ridden a King Quad. Very nice bike. I have only heard of some tie rod issues with these and some tendency for the outside front end to dive in sharp curves. Also have only heard of tie rod issues with Grizzlies. I dont think you can go wrong with any of them, I just dont want a belt drive. Thats just me though.
Good luck.

Default help with decision....rincon...kq..grizzly

Speedrocks and ForemanDan,

My thoughts exactly and my choices now consist of either the '06 KQ or the '06 Rincon as well (except I won't buy the Grizz...I want a more update model, a better ride, and EFI)

I guess in all the research that I have done, which is a lot....and still with no ATV yet, that I will make 1 point on each.

First on the KQ, take a look at Nyroc's site for a lot of useful KQ info at www.atv.dnsalias.com and also since you 2 are considering the '06 then I would disregard most of the air filter issues you are hearing about. There are MANY MANY happy KQ owners that have spent the money (no more than $30) for a new UNI air filter and sealing grease and the problem is solved. I too think it is a great quad and I think a lot of people that come on here are still bashing it (unfairly) for an issue that is easily fixable. I feel sorry for those who it hurt prior to the discovery but moving forward it looks like all is well and I think most of the credit goes to forums like these.

On the Rincon, I agree and believe that it takes an unfair bashing..... read the '06 write-up at atvscene.com. I totally understand that if I purchase this machine I am giving up the locker, great engine braking and them most speed in the world BUT on trails 680cc is plenty, NO BELT, and it is reliable....also with a few Honda dealers w/n 5 hrs of me the price comes VERY close to a KQ!

Ok so that was more than one point but I think those are two things that help "clear the air" to make a more informed decision. I have heard great things about the '06 Rincon's new disc brakes and from guys that ride weekly in the mountains. If the feeling of powerful engine braking is a must then I would go KQ and get the UNI air filter on it immediately and never look back. If that need doesn't exist or you believe in the brakes (as I do) then you have a difficult decision on two great quads...............as I do.
