Default 250r getting no spark, please help!!

Well heres the deal.....i got a 89 250r, i bought it last year and it ran like a raped ape.....never had a problem with it until one day it just shut off while riding......after that i tore the whole quad down and redid the whole thing, sent the motor out to Eric Gorr for bottom and top end......got the motor back but no spark, bought a new CDI, stator, kill switch, and now finally a whole new wiring harness....Im pretty good at turning wrenches and have gone through all the basic things, done everything in the Clymer manual, but still no spark.....Getting Ohm readings from everything but still no spark.....This problem has got me stumped, the whole electrical is basically brand new. Please any input or help

You should check the voltage output of the stator and pulse coil. Make sure the kill switch isn't grounded.

wire and cap! what cap are you talkin about? i would change the wire and coil ,,, the 250r's are notorious for a weak spark theres a guy on ebay selling high output coils you should check that---- that is the most common flaw on the trx is a weak spark by the way what did you pay to have your bottom end done ,,,,good luck w/that you will figure it out-- it is 1 of the easiest quads ever to work on

I meant the spark plug cap. I had one go bad on the Banshee, but not on the 88 nor 89 250R.
Again I assume you have changed all that stuff if you replaced the entire harness. Also, I assume you have tried at least TWO new sparkplugs....depending on where you are checking for spark.

Both my R's coil went bad. That should of been the first thing you did. Replace it, and make sure the plug cap is screwed onto the coil wire good and snug.
