I am currently the proud owner of an 82' ATC110. When I purchased it I had to do some tinkering to get it running properly, the carb was dirty the fuel lines blocked, the low range none functional, among other things. Well recently the fuel tank has decided to dump an unhealthy amount of rust into my carb, causing it to plug up the filter quite frequently. My question is does anyone know of any type of sealer or something I can put in the tank as to stop the rust ?

I tried the inline filter scene and was not satisfied with that, seams like a temporary fix and it's not convenient. I also tried draining the tank to remove any rust chunks but it's a very fine powder of rust that is getting in the lines and it goes right through the filter and into the carb. The use of reserve has been lost due to this horrible rust accumulating in the line and in the fuel shutoff valve. I am afraid if I don't solve the problem I will end up with a hole in the tank which is just not acceptable. I use this machine to go on long journeys through the woods not on anything you would call a trail, it's far too slow for that. So reliability is a must.

 

i have had soome friends use a product called tank seal and it worked good. It was a pour in type of stuff that coated the inside of the tank pretty well. Another option is to contact Clarke Mfg and check out their replacement gas tanks. You need part #1370, 2nd from the bottom on that page.
