Just so I know where my 450 is at, does everyone elses 450 start up on the 2nd to 3rd kick in the winter? Just trying to see where my 450 is at, and its still in good condition.

Full choke and it takes me around 3 to 4 kicks depending on how cold it is . Around 2 weeks ago the temperature here has been at -20 and she always started up but it takes awhile to let her warm up . I need to stay on the choke for atleast 10 - 15 mins or else she'll keep stalling .

ooo wow that sounds like my 250ex. Needs a while to warm up buy ya with full choke on and when it starts, it takes bout 20 secs till its good, but this is its first winter, so i dont know maybe next year it may be longer

they are reliable in the winter. i doesnt get that cold down here, but i bought mine in the winter and starts within 1-3 kicks, full choke. in case you dont know, and as the manual says, NEVER touch the throttle when starting...you will be kicking longer if you do.

Depending how cold it gets you should probably re-jet the carb for the winter. Colder air is denser and could cause a lean condition since race quads are jetted pretty close to ideal stock. Most utilities are jetted more rich so they run real well in the winter!!!
