Default Forman Exhaust Q.

I have a 1998 Honda Forman 450s, the exhaust has been rusted out for a while now, drives me nuts with the rattling and buzzing, plus the fact that the baffles inside occasionally shift and block off exhaust flow!!!

In a local classifide add there is a White Brothers slip on muffler and s-pipe for sale. Does anyone know if the diameter of the exhaust pipe on a 400ex is similar to the one on the forman 450??? Larger, smaller???

I know its not a bolt on affair, but if the pipes are the same size I can have this replacement welded in place (my stock one is fully welded anyway. )

This way I can have a higher quality, tuneable exhaust for 1/2 the cost of a bolt on aftermarket or a factory replacement!!!

If noone knows all of this information, if somone with a 400ex could measure the diameter of their exhaust (especially if you have the white brothers muffler!) I would be very appreciative.

As long as I know the pipe diameter, lengthening the pipe would be easy to get the muffler where it needs to be. Not looking for a bolt on issue here, just pipe size, adjustments and mounting tabs can all be fabricated if it works out!!

with you saying fabricatiing is not a problem then i would say go for it because you can always add extra pipe and strech the pipe to fit our use reducers or whatever you needed to do. Let me know if you do it and it works and what was involved. Thanks
