I recently installed longer arms and bought some new brake lines to compliment the addition on my 400EX

I'm having problems getting brake fluid into the lines, I can't get the air out. I can't get the reservoir to "prime" and force the fluid into the lines. I've opened up both bleeder valves, one bleeder valve, closed both and can't get anything to work.

Am I going to have to rig up a way to inject the brake fluid from the caliper up to the reservoir?

I sure would appreciate the help. Anxious to try my new shocks as well and hate just looking at the machine with all the new toys on it.

try pumping the brakes 20 times with the valves closed and then hold the brake lever and open one valve still holding the lever down and keep doing that intill you can get them to bleed properly hope this helps good luck[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

It's been several weeks since I messed with it but I'll try that again. I did so many different combinations that I can't remember if I did that for sure but anyway I'll give it another try. Thanks, Kyle

This was the same problem I had with my ex a little bit ago. It's a reverse bleed system which I actually found out how to do on this forum. I used a seringe and a piece of 1/4" clear tubing and put the tubing on the caliper bleed fitting. Make sure the res is filled. Open the bleeder and depress the lever and then close the bleeder. When the pedal comes back up it should pull the fluid into the master cylinder and lines. Make sure you keep fluid in the res. Repeat a few times until you get solid fluid to the caliper and you should be good. You'll feel pressure in the pedal within the first or second prime. I used a seringe to create a vacuum to get it quicker but I think it's just as fast either way.
