Default changing gears

I'm a new rider, owner of a 2004 440ex . I was wondering do you have to hold the clutch in when shifting up ?If I do suppose to hold clutch ,what are to damages if I don't ? I do hold clutch when shifting down .

yes u have to pull the clutch in shifting up or down. if u dont and keep driving no clutch you will have tranny problums.
