if i take the baffel out of my exuast pipe will it damage my 400ex in any way.

No it wont. BUT on some bikes you may loose HP, not gain

These are jetted lean at the factory, to meet emissions. Taking the baffle out, will make it even leaner. A lean engine will run hot, and if taken to extreme will melt down!

Why not take the baffel out, and rejet a couple sizes bigger.

I would take it out, why the hell not?? If you don't gain anything atleast you will sound cooler..[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

Or if you have the money buy an exhaust system so instead of just waking up the neibors you are waking up the neibors while speeding away with 10 extra hp.

cut the baffle off and put the endcap back on. you get a better sound. My 400 ran fine like this for a year. cut right where the screen meets the solid tube and you will be fine.
