TRX250EX

okay.. the 250ex's are soo auto clutch and manual shift.. except the 06's ... they are either autoclutch and manual shift or manual clutch and manual shift...
this is called the sportclutch.. it allows you to use the clutch if you want and if you dont the machine wont stall or anything.. its a good way for beggingers to learn

i also have a 06 250trx. we love it. i bought for my 14 yr old and she loves it. my 19 yr old rides it now and then and he loves it. i have a 05 brute force 4x4 and the TRX can go practically any where i go. about 3 weeks ago we completely submerged the 250 TRX and had it completly upside down. the only thing i could see out the water was the 4 bottoms of the tires. i got it home on a trailer. and immediatly removed spark plugs and rolled it over to remove any excess water. cleaned the plug and checked the oil. what do you know there was NO water in the oil. but i change it any way. reinstalled the plug. and fired it up.. it fired right up and it sputtered for a while, while spitting water from the exhast pipe. after about 5mins or so it smoothed out and ran perfect. still does!! what a machine, would recommend for any one who want an incredibly built toy............sg777

Funny......My wife and I just bought the same combo. (Raptor 700 and TRX250EX). She is already complaining about the lack of power. I want to put an exhaust on both machine but which exhaust do you think will give the 250EX the most HP gains? I'm either going with a HMF or LTE on mine.

We mainly ride the Sand as she doesn't care for mud or trail riding, I only like it once in a while myself. To give her a little more power at the dunes I put an FMF megamax on her 250 as well as air box lid off , uni filter and jetted. It must of made a difference cause I weight 200 lbs and I beat a friends 250 EX in a sand drag (we were just screwin around) he weights in at about 120 soaking wet and I beat him by about 2 bike lenghts. It's no speed demon on the top end but with a set of 20' sandstars on the back my wife gets up the biggest hills on it at Winchester Bay in the Oregon dunes I have the LTE's and GYTR filter with a PCIII usb on my 700R and boy what a difference from stock

Okay, so now I am 99% sure I am gonna get the 250ex. It is really relible and has enough power for what I want and will last a long time.
To get more power what exhaust should I get and are the stock tires any good?

I just bought my wife a 250ex and she is constantly complaining about the lack of power and tire grip. I'm purchasing her some ITP Holeshot tires for the grip problem. We'll see on the exhuast, I'm still searching for the best exhaust for this unit. I may purchase a FMF Megamax. This thing is fun to ride wheelies on......

Hey Man Check out my site at www.gcextreme.com/GCATV/ATV.html
Check out my trx250ex pics in my profile and on my own webpage at

Though my 250ex is an 04, and doesnt have the new sportclutch thing, (i can have that added on for like $800) I still love it.. My bro has a Raptor 660r and he loves my 250ex.. says it Floats on the trails, so easy to ride and wheelie up over obstacles.
But u gotta get skidplates and nerf to protect it.
Anyway i got stock exhaust and tires, they do me fine..even in the snow. i have had it up to 55 on flat hard dirt.. even faster on pavement (illegal here ) lol i have a trail tech computer that reads my MPH and etc.
Plus a tether kill switch.
yes its a small machine, not as powerful as the Raptor660 but its RELIABLE, my bros raptor is always breaking, even on the trails, i had to tow him back to camp once.
Theres not much you can do, or should do to beef up the engine, you do too much and u may damage the reliability. Its shaft drive, so u wont have to worry bout chain and sprocket and big brake disc problems.
Eventually i will add a 450r to my collection then get a girlfirend to ride my 250ex, then maybe pass it on to my kids, if the girlfriend turns into a wife and mother. lol
Anyway the new 250ex will have the same Horsepower as the old ones, the engine is still the same, but with the new sport clutch, u will be able to get up and go a bit faster and slip the clutch for more roost.. so yes, go with it man.....
But if u buy it... first thing u should do is ADJUST THE HANDLEBARS and Controls.(getnew grips too ). they have them too low.. move them up.. better for jumping and trail riding.. pending on how tall u are and how u ride. but believe me.. i thought i was comfortable with the way they were stock.. then i adjusted them.. and now i love it.. dont have the bar jamming into the tank when making sharp turns.

anyone else here think his speedo is not calibrated correct or something like that. my uncles are an 02 and a 03. I have had them on the street, the hard dirt, all terrain and I dont think Ive ender broken into the 50's. I mean, my uncles GPS showed our sandrail doing 62 once while cruising the we were leaving the 250's behind BAD, not just 6mph faster. think back to when your on the freeway and those sob's going 3-4mph faster than the semi pass them and take like a solid minute to do so. we were pulling away from the 250's hard. I was guessing they may have done 45-50 but thats if you rev the **** out of em and sit at redline.
