New Yamaha YZ426F based Warrior!! No Joke!!
#1
Just heard from the district manager of the Yamaha dealer in town that
Yamaha is soon releasing a 426 Warrior based on the YZ426F motorcycle
engine. I know him and is a very reliable source. If the handling, etc. is
good I think Honda may need to improve the 400ex!!

Confirmed new Warrior based on YZ426.
I just spoke with a Canadian dealer I know and he confirms that they will be releasing a new sport quad using the YZ426 engine, not the WR400 engine. The quad will be a 2000 model and will be available in February.
I wonder if the handling will be competitive with the 400ex.
Only time will tell, but at least we are seeing some new developments out there.

Guys, not to be too rude, but this is the Honda atvs, section. Which has nothing to do with Yamaha atvs or their phantom YZ400 or 426 based quad. However, since you brought it up, if they do use a Warrior based frame, it will be like a 4 stroke Banshee. All kinds of power, in that portly frame. The Warrior is a nice quad, but I wouldnt buy one if it had a jet engine in it! I will stick with my 400EX for now, thankyou very much!

I wish Yamaha designs their sport ATVs more like Honda's 300ex. I personally think the 300ex is the best looking ATV and I wish more sport frames are built like it.
