yes, you can have a power loss but speed increase....
It basically raises all your gear ratios slightly higher. Try starting out in 3rd gear, you'll understand. 3rd gear gives you higher speed than 1st gear, but not as much power. The larger tires have a larger circumference, so they travel more distance per revolution. if you were driving at one revolution per second, the larger tire would travel more distance. more distance in a given amount of time equals higher speed.
The drawback is that it increases your speed but at the cost of power. Now your quad will be forced to move a few inches farther per tire revolution, thus causing a little more grunting of the motor.
In all honesty, i dont think you'll feel a difference at all. 25's are only one inch above stock and if you put a pipe on you'll probably gain it all back and then some, as long as you jet it correctly. also get a UNI air filter, it flows higher and with the combination of the new exhaust will help the engine breathe better, again, as long as you jet it right.
I've heard horror stories about k&n filters, try to stick to the oiled foam type to protect your investment.

ok thanks, ive already looked at the Uni filter with the supertrapp IDS2, however what sizes jets would you run? i know my friend installed mine, since he races a honda 450, but i think he used two sizes up on the main and one on the other! not 100% sure! however i believe it was the one for altitude of 3k feet or simialiar, can you comment on the jetting aspect and what altitudes represents each one, because if i see the altitude i can tell you which one! thanks
