How would Gore eliminate the internal combustion engine?

Oh yeah, PADZZ; maybe the greatest praise Gore laid on the automakers was sending their jobs to Mexico and Asia with his trade policies, while the rank-and-file automakers took a day off from work so they could "get out the vote" and vote for him, as their Union bosses instructed.

A couple of comments on executive orders;
One is that they really are only in effect for the term of the current president. They can stay in effect if the next or new president wants them to, but the new president can also reject them and they are no longer law.
Two is that all executive orders can be held to meet constitutional authority. If congress challenges them (it happened to Harry Truman) then the Supreme Court will rule on the constitutionality of the exec order.
Therefore, should Florida go Gore after all, hope that congress challenges his exec orders.

On the following web page there is an article about Gore Sr. and Sweet Al, and the money from the oil companies. It is a long article but worth the reading.

when u mentioned getting power from water i had to respond. in Popular Science a few months ago they had a article on this. they showed a machine that ran off solar pannels to power a machine that separated the hydrogen from the rest of the water. the hydrogen then was run in a fuel cell and made electricy. this is still in prototype stages but it will happien when its cost effective.
but i still like the four stroke touque. electric cant match the power of a gas engine pound for pound.

True enough, Trapper. But, keep in mind you have, on one side, a swipe of the pen. On the other side, an act of Congress. Seems like a big advantage for Gore. After all, look what Clinton got away with if for no other reason than Congress didn't have the time or wouldn't take the effort to recind what he did.
