Ya i found a buyer for my blaster, 3000$, so im going to put some money outta that into buying a trx frame, but then i want to spend the rest on an engine, but i have a friend whos got some random engine parts. I want to only buy the part of the engine that has the serial number on it so that it can be registered in my name...and then i can build the engine with my friends parts, can someone please tell me what that certain part of the engine on a trx that has the serial number on it? thanks

 

I don't think the engine has a serial number, it's only on the frame.
if you are building from scratch, why bother with registering it anyway?

 

well because i want it legal so that if a cop wants to stop me and theres no trail close by, im actually gunna stop, and when he stops me hes gunna check the serial numbers and see if there registered to my name. if it comes up stolen or if theres none, im chargd with possesion of a stolen vehicule man...and i know for a fact that theres a serial number on the engine!

 

There is a engine # on most atv motors and when you register the atv they will want it So i would buy the parts from your buddy and if you can or have somebody else change the case out with your new motor Or if you get the motor from a reputable (spelling?) person get a bill of sale from him and regester the atv with the new motor # and frame #

 

yup yup thanks, thats my plan, but i was just wondering if the serial number on teh trx450r is located on a detachable engine cover ur sumthin easy to swap onto another motor, cuz some quads like my blaster have the serial number integrated into the block, which you cant put on another motor easily...

 

get the title to the frame they wont check the # on the motor.

 

They will check the #'s in CA you have to do a vin varification And if you get pulled over in CA they check both #'s to see if it has been stolen

Why not get the rest of the parts And Im shure they keep track of #'s in canada

 

ya they check both here too, but noones answered my question yet, lol, i just wanted to know whether or not the serial number on the engine is on a detachable cover ur sumthin easy to take off the engine???
