how hard is it to change the front and rear brakes on a 2005 rancher?2x4

depends on what exactly you need to do, do u have brake failure? because there is no way your brakes are gone, unless u rode with them on, and burnt them or water got inside, let me know the problem i can tell you how to fix it. i seem to do it alot anymore

it my buddies quad, i think the brakes are gone. we ride alot , and threw mud and sand. but the brake tightener behind the right rear tire are both adjusted all the way. is it possible that they are just dirty? how long does it take to wear out a set?

nope its water failure, more then likely, u will need to pull the tire, pull the hubs, check and regrease the seals, clean up the pads and put it all back together

there about 1 in half years old.how hard of a job is it? any thing like car brakes?are you sure they dont need changed? how long does a set last?

well i have about 3800 miles on mine, and they were only half shot, they are extremely similar to car brakes, the front is like a dual piston drum brake, the rear is very similar to a cable parking brake, pretty easy if you have done drums before

what do i need to do?take them apart , clean them up, put back together? any way to keel this from happening again? how come the tightners are as tight as they will go?

take them apart clean them up regrease the seals, sand down the pads a bit and get back on the road, adjusters all the way in cus of the water

grease and inspect seals every oil change, thats about all i can tell ya
