Guy wants $4000 for an 02 Rubicon w/Warn winch and 800 miles. That's close to $2k less than a new one and the bike looks very clean. Is a new Rubi worth the difference? I realize new from a dealer has some value, but aside from that wondering if performance/reliability is much different between the 02 and 06 models.

Ya I have to agree I would buy a new one. The 02 up till early 03's still hade a few with bad oil pumps. And the new 06's besides having front disk brakes have in and out 4x4 and different cam ect.

 

I used to own an 02, and was thinking samething as you. I would recommend going with the 06. The changes are worth the money difference, ride, adjustable shocks, 4x4 conversion to 2x4, brakes, and most of all-doesn't steer like a tank.
